What began as one of the hardest seasons of my life became the foundation for everything I have today. In 2011, I walked through the doors of OASIS feeling broken, uncertain, and desperately in need of guidance. I did not yet know that those doors would lead me not only to safety and healing, but to purpose, confidence, and a future I once thought was out of reach.

At OASIS, I was given more than services, I was given hope. Through domestic violence education classes, I learned what a safe and healthy life could truly look like. Financial literacy classes taught me how to budget, save, and build stability for myself and my family. Parenting classes strengthened me as a mother to my three children, and healthy relationship education helped me rediscover who I was and how to build positive, lasting connections with others. With OASIS standing beside me, advocating for me every step of the way, I was also able to obtain housing and begin rebuilding my life from the ground up.

What makes my story even more meaningful is that my journey with OASIS did not end there.

I later returned to OASIS as a volunteer in the Ready to Work program, wanting to give back to the organization that had changed my life. As I worked, supervisors noticed my dedication and commitment, and in 2017, I was offered a position in the Crisis Office. From there, I continued to grow into leadership, eventually serving in a supervisor role within Campus Management.

Then, a few years later, something happened that once felt impossible: my dream position became available, and I became the Data Compliance Coordinator.

In 2023, I reached another milestone I once only dreamed about — I purchased my first home.

When I reflect on my journey, I see more than personal success. I see the impact of compassion, education, advocacy, and opportunity. OASIS did not simply help me survive; they helped me rediscover my strength and build a life filled with stability, purpose, and hope.
Without the incredible programs and staff at OASIS, I would not be the woman I am today. My story is proof that when people are supported, believed in, and empowered, lives can truly change for generations to come.
